Candy Corn Thanksgiving Wreath
Right after Halloween, be sure to head to your local shop to take advantages of Halloween candy on sale. It’s not just great for eating. It can be a material in craft projects too. For Thanksgiving, you can make a Thanksgiving wreath using candy corn and canned frosting. Pick up a few bags of candy corn, eat some and use the rest for your Thanksgiving wreath. It’s a clever and cute way to get ready for Thanksgiving with Thanksgiving decorations.
But before you begin, some words of caution:
- Don’t eat the finished wreath. It is not edible once everything hardens and solidifies so be sure everyone knows so.
- Only hang the wreath indoors if you live in a warm climate. Otherwise, it will melt.
Materials:
- aluminum foil
- 2 or 3 cans white prepared frosting
- several bags of candy corn
- Styrofoam wreath form, 12 inch
Steps
- Cover the Styrofoam wreath completely with foil.
- Cover the foil-covered wreath with the white frosting.
- Apply each candy corn piece individually by pressing it into the frosting on the wreath. You can do this any way you like, making it look to your liking. There are many possibilities.
- The frosting will harden to secure everything and then you can hang the wreath on your door. (be sure to heed the safety advice above!)
